Paul Riley and Simone Capponi took part in the Central Lancashire Half Marathon Paul finished in 1.27.57 and Simone finished in 1.30.32 Well done to both of you.

24 January 2010 - Chernobyl 10kFour Striders took part in this race with Martin Swensson coming 5th overall in a time great time of 35.28. Neil Kelly was second strider to finish in 39.43. Tim Fletcher finished in a time of 43.32. MArk Finch completed the race in 53.22. Well done everyone.
17 January 2010 - Shell Four Villages Half Marathon
A
good turnout for this race with a few PB's. Nigel Grant was first
Strider home in 1.22.46 Well done Nigel.. Paul Riley was second Strider
home in 1.27.29 PB knocking around 3 mins off his previous PB. Mark
Hargreaves was third Strider home in 1.29.03. Dave Pinnington was
fourth strider home in 1.32.41 PB knocking 6 mins off his previous PB.
Marty Hirrell was fifth strider home in 1.33.00. Sixth Strider home
was Andrew Stansfield in another PB time of 1.35.49 taking a minute off
his previous best. Rob Hardwick came home in 1.39.04 closely followed by Cristina Puccini 1.39.31. Jane Eardley had a good run finishing in 1.45.29 and hot on her heels came Tarja Kinnunen in 1.45.43.Billy Taylor clocked 1.48.54. Val Desborough 1.53.09 late entrant Keith Boyle finished in 1.52.17, Russel Burnham 1.58.40, Neil Kenwright 1.59.15, Eunice Nopondo 2.05.41, Althea Dean 2.12.54 and Jane Hallows coming home in 2.44.41. 27 December 2009 - Ribble Valley 10k Clitheroe

Dave Pinnington was the sole Strider running in a snow bound Ribble
Valley 10k clocking a time of 42.38. With most other races canceled
due to the weather this race had a record turnout and a top class field
with the first eight all finishing in under 30 mins.
27 December 2009 - Round the Walls 4.5m - ChesterThree
Striders took part in this race Derek Ashcroft was first strider home
in 23.15. Russel Burnham clocked 36.08 as did Maria Motley 36.08
13 December 2009 - Calvia - Majorca Half Marathon 
Well done to Shane and Carolyn on completing 12 half marathons in 12
months. A wet and dreary morning did nothing to dampen the spirits of both of them on an undulating, interesting and scenic
circular route along the coast from Palma Nova to Santa Ponsa. To complete 12 half marathons in that time has been a great achievement - Well done both of you.
13 December 2009 - Stockport 10 Road Race
Jane Eardley was the sole representative in this road race and finished in a time of 1.19.07. Well done Jane.
12 December 2009 - Greatt Langdale Christmas Pudding 10kSix
Striders took part in this Christmas Pudding 10k race. First Strider
home was Neil Kelly in 39.12. Pam Thurtle was second Strider to finish
in 43.36. Rob Hardwick was third Strider to finish in 45.01. Tarja Kinnunen was fourth Strider to cross the line in 48.35. Mike Roberts finished in 49.13 with Jane Hallows completing the race in 49.54. Well done everyone.

1.17.09. Paul Aird was second Strider to finish in a time of 1.29.44.

1 November 2009 - Derwentwater 10 mile road race
Two Striders completed this race in the wind and heavy rain. David Cain
finished in a time of 1.12.24 and wife Susan Cain completed the race in
1.20.24. Well done to the both of you.
1 November 2009 - New York City Marathon - PB for Maria Conaghan
Four
Striders took part in this race and Maria Conaghan had a magnificent
run and was the first Strider to cross the finish line in a time of 3.09.55 (PB)
Unofficial. Neil Kelly was the second Strider home in 3:14:22. Said
Omar clocked 3:26:11 and Simone and his (Dad) Mariano finished in
3:30:41. Fabulous times well done to all of you.
Octobers Road Running News25 October 2009 - Great Cumbrian Half Marathan Carlisle

and Shane Knott completed the race in 2.20.03.
Both have completed 10 half marathons in 10 months. well done both of you only two left to go to complete 12 half marathons in 12 months.

Well done to Fiona in her first marathon and getting a superb time of
3.40.11 an excellent result. Also Natalie did a great time of 1.43.00
in the Half Marathon. Well done both to you.

04 October 2009- Sandstone Trail Race - A Race Distance 17.1 Miles
Nine Striders took part in this race grueling Trail race though
Cheshire. Simone was the first strider to finish in 02.09.28.
Neil Kelly was second strider to finish in a time of 02.16.31. Maria
Conaghan was third in a time of 02.23.16 just ahead of Frank Martin who
was seconds behind in 02.23.29

A magnificent turnout of 35 Striders took part in the race with a few
people getting PB's. Derek Ashcroft was the first Strider to finish in
a time of 38.26 not far behind was Marty Hirrell in 39.36. Andy Keeley
was 3rd Strider to finish in 40.19 and got a PB in the process well
done Andy.

27 September 2009 - Ormskirk 10k
Mark Hargreaves clocked 38.53 on the Ormskirk 10k. He came 11th overall and 2nd in the M36-45 Category. Well done Mark.

27 September 2009 - Belarus 10k - PB For Andy KeeleyTwo Striders took part in the Belarus 10k. First Strider to cross the finish line was Andy Keeley in 40:49
in a PB and 9th overall. Joanne Hart was the second strider to finish on 46:53 and 33rd overall.
20 September 2009 - Guilden Sutton 10k PB's for Paul Riley & Dave Pinnington.
Four Penny Lane Striders took part in the Guilden Sutton 10k on a lovely Autumn morning. First Strider home and in a
PB time of 39.13 was Paul Riley closely followed by Dave Pinnington in a
PB time of 40.53. Mike Roberts was the third strider to cross the line in 47.41. Kevin O'Brien completed the race in 57.00. A nice 10k race this one and well worth doing.
20 September 2009 - Berlin Marathon
Two striders took part in the
Berlin Marathon. Amanda Jones crossed the line in 4.02.22 and Vincent
Friery finished the race in 4.35.33. Well done both of you..
20 September 2009 - Anglesey Marathon
Dave
Buse had a terrific run in the Anglesey Marathon and recorded a time of
3.00.45. Well done Dave. Time to be confirmed and if its a PB?.
20 September 2009 - Anglesey 10k
5 Striders completed the Anglesey 10k leading the way home was Mal Balmer in 41.41 and came 6th overall. Nextr Strider was David Lynan in 44min producing a Top 20 finish.
Janice K recordedd a time of 49min and got a PB. Julie Balmer finished the race in 1.02.41 alongside Chris Cummins again 1.02.41. Well done all.
20 September 2009 - Great North Run Half Marathon
Andrew Stansfield was the sole Striders running today's Great North Run and finished in a time of 1.42.49. Well done Andrew.
20 September 2009 - Langdale Marathon & Half Marathon
Three Striders took part in the Marathon and half marathon today. Dave Cain clocked 3.57 in the Marathon and came 28th overall and 1st Vet 50. Sue Cain completed the Half Marathon in 1.58.18 with Val Desborough finishing in 2.09.28. Well done.

13 September 2009 - Gawsworth 10k

Dave Pinnington did the Gawsworth 10k and finished in a time of 44.57. The course worked out at 6.45 miles and was more of an Multi-terrain race, taking in a lot of Tarmac, Trail paths, fields and canal paths. Race was well worth doing and very scenic.
13 September - Fleetwood Half Marathon - PB Martin Swensson 1.18.14
Two
Striders took part in this race and well done to Martin Swensson who
came second in the race with a time of 1.18.14 and got a PB in the process. Tim Warn finished in
a time of 1.34.36 Well done.
13 September 2009 - Lake Vyrnwy Half MarathonNine Striders took part in the Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon in remembering Doug Morris. With some good times today Neil Kelly led the way finishing in 1.24.02. A few minutes behind him was Ste McNicholas who clocked 1.28.13 with Maria Conaghan coming in at 1.33.13. Gary Whitfield finished in a time of 1.35.33 and Rob Hardwick in 1.40.45. Liz Lynan ran well in getting 1.48.50 not far behind was Peter Davies finishing in 1.54.34. Shane Knott 2.01.38 and Caroline Houghton 2.08.49 clocked up another half marathon towards trying to complete one per month in 2009 only three more to go. Well done to all of you today.

Cath Nevin was the only Strider taking part in this 10k over a new course and clocked a time of 51.58. Well done Cath.

came 13th out of 256. Uphill for the first 6k! Well done Mark.

striders took part in this flat 10k race around the country lanes of
Lanacashire. First Strider home was Mark Hargreaves in 38.36 followed
by Ste McNicholas in 39.48. Marty Hirrel 40.11 was third Strider
followed by Dave Pinnington in 41.25 - a PB for Dave today. Mike Devereux clocked 43.55 closely followed by Rob Hardwick in 45.08. Mike Roberts finished in 49.00 not bad considering he has just recently completed 700+ miles of cycling in Scotland and Europe.

Saturday. The majority of the course takes you along quiet country
lanes through some of England’s most attractive scenery.
Nigel Grant was first Strider home in a great time of 1.26.30. Shane
Knott finished in 2.08.28 and Carolyn Houghton 2.16.18. Shane and
Carolyn are now 8 races through completing 1 half marathon per month in
2009 only 4 to go - well done folks.

Six
Striders took part in the Capenhurst 5k that was hosted by Ellesmere Port Running Club . Neil Kelly was first strider
home in 18.36 not to far behind was Ste McNicholas who crossed the line in
19.08. Only 5 seconds separated Maria Conaghan 20.26 and Pam Thurtle
20.31. Rob Hardwick finished in 20.41 with Michelle Kelly crossing the line in 23.38. Well done to everyone.

12 Striders took part in the Brichwood 10k on a breezy morning in Warrington. Martin Swennson was first Strider home in 36.13. Neil Kelly was second Strider home in 39.03 followed by Syd Omar in 41.32. Maria Conaghan was 4th Strider to finish in 42.47. Gordon Read crossed the line in 43.08 closely followed by Billy Hargreaves in 43.43. Sam Darby was 7th Strider home in 45.27 with Tommy Burke 45.29 just a couple of seconds behind. Andrew Stansfield clocked 46.04 followed by Cath Nevin at 53.11. Philip Murray crossed the line in 57.18 with Kevin O'Brien hot on his heels in 57.53.

4 Penny Lane Striders took part in the 10
mile road race at Great Warford out near Knutsford on Sunday. Marty
Hirrell led the way home in 1:08:13 just pipping Andy Keeley who
did1:08:26
. Mike Devereux was only a few minutes behind clocking 1:12:51 and soon
after followed Steve Pemberton crosssing the line in 1:15:49.
2 August 2009 - Sale 10 Mile Race from Wythenshawe Park - PB's for Martin Swensson and Paul Riley - Well Done Lads

10 Striders took part in the Sale 10. Leading the way was Martin
Swennson in 58.18 (PB) closely followed by Nigel Grant in 1.01.56.
Paul Riley in 1.05.53 (PB) put in a great peformance this following on
from a PB in a recent 10k race as well. Less than a minute seperated
Tony Man 1.07.02 and Marty Hirrel 1.07.53. Mike Devereux 1.12.38 was a
couple of minutes in front of Andrew Stansfield 1.15.10. John Kelly
came home in 1.18.51 just under four minutes in front of his wife
Michelle who clocked 1.22.39 Cath Nevin soon followed in 1.27.54.
