Club Constitution
The club constitution is a set of basic rules and principles in the form of a written document, that describes how the club operates. For Penny Lane Striders, this term refers specifically to a constitution defining the club principles, structure, procedures, powers and duties of the committee and how the club shall be run.

Club History
Penny Lane Striders was formed in 1985 by Neville Parsons and Jack Clark, with the assistance of Gordon Hall. All three shared the same passion, of wanting to establish an organised running club to accommodate the grass roots runner. In recognition of this achievement all three are now honorary lifetime members alongside Gerry Delahunty who revived the 10 mile race.
Since 1985 Penny Lane has developed into a friendly running club that has around 200 members. We are a friendly bunch, mostly normal, and although most of us would like to be fitter and faster (and younger) there is no pressure. We organise our training runs to cater for all abilities from the novice to the serious runner. We frequently get together for social events, activities and races.
We are affiliated to England Athletics Association. Members therefore do not have to pay the non affiliated entry fee levy to enter races organised under the rules of UK Athletics, and are covered by their insurance. Affiliation fees support the development of the sport locally and nationally.
The hardest part of running for fitness is sticking to a training programme. Belonging to a running club might just give you the motivation you need to achieve your aims. If you live in or near South Liverpool then you will find a warm welcome at our training sessions where you can meet us and find out more about membership.
